This individual will function in PACU environment and provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Assists with the maintenance of PHA and PACU equipment and inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care of patients undergoing surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures. Responsible for monitoring patient’s physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist immediately and as needed about patient condition; receives direction for patient management. Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis. Proficient in pain management, guidelines and medication dosing. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR Perform head to toe pre-procedure assessment on all patients and reassesses post procedure as needed Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care as indicated and evaluates for effectiveness. Adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniquess. What You’ll Do Helping with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing Supporting residents with medication Repositioning residents in bed and escorting them around the community Toileting, incontinent care Take vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate and pulse Observe and report on residents’ health, escalating any problems efficiently and effectively Detail daily reports to Nurse, or designated charge person, at end of shift Provide emotional support and serve as a source of comfort for residents and their loved ones Assist residents with mobility by helping them get in and out of bed, chairs, or wheelchairs.
