Job Summary and Qualifications The role of the Super Float Pool Registered Nurse is to perform patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director of the department to which the RN is assigned for his or her shift. The Super Float Registered Nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The Registered Nurse in the Super Float Pool position provides care for acutely ill patient in units as determined by the Float Pool agreement. PRN SCHEDULE: 6 12-hr shifts per 4 week schedule with weekend commitments What qualifications you will need: Graduate from accredited school of nursing with either an AND or BSN degree. Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. BLS required upon hire. ACLS required within 2 months of hire. TNCC and PALS required within 6 months of hire. Minimum 5 years critical care experience in the areas of ICU, ER, and/or PACU. Key Responsibilities: Operating Room: Provide comprehensive care during surgeries, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and efficiency. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the OR team to deliver high-quality care. Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU): Monitor patients as they recover from anesthesia, manage post-operative pain, and assess vital signs to ensure patient stability. Provide support and education to patients and their families about the recovery process. Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments to ensure patients are physically and mentally prepared for surgery. Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans. Participate in the education and mentoring of nursing students and new staff members. Contribute to departmental committees, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements. Minimum Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN): Current Missouri RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure. BCLS Certification: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required and maintained.
