The responsibilities of an LDRP Nurse include caring for laboring mothers, post-partum mothers, and newborns. An LDRP nurse should have a caring, empathetic nature and work well under pressure in a stressful environment. Also, be able to coordinate care with a team of healthcare professionals.

Lacatation Nurse Responsibilities:

Provides lactation support and education to patients and families
Interprets changes in family health structure, and assumes responsibility for using available resources for follow through.
Communicates information to parent, significant others, and staff using positive interpersonal relation skills, using appropriate judgment in content and timing.
Coordinates patient discharge planning and referrals.
Identifies barriers to learning and develops and implements individualized teaching plan.

Qualifications:

Current and valid Florida RN license.
1-year OB experience is required.
Current BLS, NRP,
STABLE preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A professional, positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work shifts and remain on-call for emergency situations.
