JOB TITLE : CRNA GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES : The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) will perform duties under the direction of the operative surgeon. The CRNA will be able to interpret data with regards to the patient's age specific needs and provide the care needed by the patient group. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthetist Program Current Nurse Anesthetist License and Certification Current BLS and ACLS certification Experience with ophthalmology anesthesia required ABILITIES : Ability to perform orbital regional anesthesia required. Location: Medical Center-Prosper Department: Prosper Anesthesiology Shift: Standard Weekly Hours: 16 Summary: The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) whose primary function is to provide high quality, holistic, evidence based anesthesia to the patient population including pediatric and adult patients. The CRNA practices in collaboration and under the medical direction of an Anesthesiologist. The CRNA assumes the care of patients at all acuity levels in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, diagnostic, emergency and therapeutic. Education: Graduate of an approved accredited school of Nurse Anesthesia; Masters of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. Certification/Licensure: Texas professional registered nurse license and advance practice nurse license. Recognition from the State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse. Certified or re-certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Basic Life Support (CPR), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
