Selects, obtains and administers the anesthetic plan of care, including induction, maintenance and emergence phases of anesthesia. Administer various types of anesthesia, including inhalation, intravenous, spinal, epidural, and peripheral nerve blocks. All anesthesia is administered under the medical direction of staff anesthesiologists. Recognizes alterations in physiologic responses to the surgical procedure and/or the anesthetic, takes appropriate action and notifies the responsible physician as indicated Transfer the patient to the appropriate postoperative area and assist in the postoperative care. Participate in the quality improvement activities and research initiatives within MHS. Physical Requirements Requires full range of motion; manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. While a CRNA will always be accountable for any anesthetic he/she performs, all anesthetics performed at DCH will be under the supervision of a staff Anesthesiologist within Children's Anesthesia Group, Inc. "CAG". The CRNA utilizes specialized knowledge, skill, research and competency acquired through advanced professional training to promote optimum care of patients and families within the neonatal/pediatric population. The CRNA utilizes the pre-operative assessments performed by the supervising staff Anesthesiologist to devise a plan for anesthetic induction, maintenance and emergence. Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduation from an accredited AANA program, CRNA certification and licensure in the State of Ohio, PALS certification, communication/customer service/basic computer skills, good manual dexterity, and physical/emotional stamina.
