Responsibilities Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to): Using computer applications. Answering telephones. Welcoming patients. Updating and filing patient medical records. Coding and filling out insurance forms; Scheduling appointments. Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services. Handling correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping. Clinical Duties (may include but not limited to): Taking medical histories. Preparing patients for examination. Assisting the physician during exams and certain procedures. Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens. Performing basic laboratory tests. Drawing blood; Taking electrocardiograms. CORE JOB SUMMARY The Medical Assistant (MA) 1 will perform multi-skilled tasks to assist the medical providers. The MA provides hands-on care to patients while adhering to regulatory requirements, standards of care, and institutional policies and procedures, under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician.
