Senior Nursing Director (RN)

General Summary of Position

Unit Highlights
The Senior Director role offers a significant opportunity for advancement, transitioning from managerial or directorial positions with oversight over multiple units. It entails a delicate balance between strategic planning and operational management, while also focusing on mentoring and nurturing the growth of reporting leaders. Direct reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) entails a high level of responsibility and interaction with the executive team, system leaders, and various disciplines. Strong budgetary knowledge and exceptional interpersonal skills are essential. As part of a Magnet hospital committed to a High Reliability Organization (HRO) model, the role emphasizes innovation and evolving care models to enhance nursing and patient outcomes. Preferably, candidates possess perioperative experience for a smoother transition. The scope of responsibilities encompasses outpatient services within the acute care environment, including the emergency department, perioperative services, vascular lab, and behavioral health units.

Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing or in health-related field required. Doctoral degree in Nursing leadership or in Health Services Administration preferred.
Minimum five years of progressively responsible leadership roles in nursing, including director of nursing (or equivalent) or above experience.
Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required. Certification in Nursing Administration from a nationally recognized nursing organization such as NEA-BC or CENP within one year.
