Description:
Indiana University Health Physicians is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Orthopedic team at Riley Hospital for Children. The RN is an integral part of the orthopedic team working alongside surgeons and advanced practice providers to ensure high quality of care to pediatric patients presenting with a variety of illnesses and injuries affecting the musculoskeletal system. Job Responsibilities:
- Must be able to function in a fast paced environment, demonstrating the ability to multitask and support various providers
- Work collaboratively with staff to ensure the environment is optimal for patient care
- Preparation of clinical charts
- Manage and triage messages
- Assist with preparation of prescriptions
- Perform a variety of office based procedures including suture removal, splinting, and casting
- Educate patients and families on conditions and specifics of treatment plan
- Initiate surgery scheduling and prior authorizations
Schedule:
- Full Time Days
- Monday – Friday
- No Holidays
- No Weekends
- Remote Work Option Available
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered RN.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nursing program accredited through the ACEN or CCNE.
- Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA. TB validated.
- Two years of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and general knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
- Knowledge of procedures for performing the functions appropriate to the specific clinical area and familiarity with designated pieces of equipment and supplies.
- Requires awareness and understanding of legal implications of patient care activities and performance as a Registered Nurse.
