The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Riverview
- AdventHealth is expanding our medical expertise, innovation, and state-of-the-art technology to southern Hillsborough County through a brand-new hospital in Riverview, which is scheduled to open in 2024.
- The new AdventHealth Riverview hospital will include 82 beds at time of opening with space to expand to 202 beds in the future.
- This $250 million project in Riverview also includes a 100,000 square foot, four-story Medical Office Building that will provide community members convenient access to expert care.
- AdventHealth Riverview will offer a wide range of health care services which includes emergency, cardiovascular, digestive, urology, orthopedic and women’s care.
The Role You’ll Contribute
The Employee Health Nurse, is a registered professional nurse who provides and manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) and the principles of primary nursing to achieve the goals of the nursing department. The Employee Health Nurse provides services and education to employees and volunteers. The Employee Health RN works independently and autonomously. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, deliver an excellent program and work with a variety of individuals throughout the organization is crucial.
Primary aspects of department include, but not limited to, new hire screenings and clearance; volunteer screenings and clearance; reviewing new contractor immunization documentation for HR; employee education; training and supervising volunteers in the department; fit testing; annual testing for employees, volunteers and physicians; tracking and reporting to meet regulatory standards; overseeing the influenza immunization program for the entire facility; employee vaccinations; exposures; Workers Compensation investigations and follow up; return to work; and all paperwork/documentation for department. The RN adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. All duties are performed in accordance with established departmental and Hospital policies and procedures. The RN actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, while implementing the principles of AdventHealth.
The Value You’ll Bring To The Team
- Provides exceptional, timely service to employees who require assistance.
- Manages workload to account for scheduled appointments, walk ins, annual employee campaigns.
- Meets with all new hires to perform intake visit - medical history review, testing, charting/documentation as required for their position.
- In coordination with Benefits Specialist and AdventHealth Worker’s Compensation, manages the initial testing and appointment setup for injured employees. Provides education to injured employee. Assists with light duty placements,as needed, for work related injuries. Maintains impeccable records and compliance with worker’s compensation laws and AdventHealth policies.
- Partners with house supervisors to ensure consistency in employee health services on off hours or when Employee Health RN is out of the office.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Graduate of an accredited school for Registered Nursing upon hire.
- Minimum of Associate’s degree in nursing, newly graduated nurses will be considered.
- Valid Florida State RN license required upon hire
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification required upon hire
