Position Overview
We are currently seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) for our Division of Hospital Medicine. In this position, you will work collaboratively with a team of internal medicine physicians to care for acutely ill patients admitted to the hospital. This is a full-time position and is benefits eligible. We currently have openings at Glenbrook - Hospital with shifts from 10am - 9pm, and at Evanston Hospital with shifts from 7am - 6pm. Both positions have the unique scheduling of 7 days on service, and 7 days off, which provides our employees with ample time off to promote healthy work life balance, while supporting a model of continuity of care for our patients. There is a possibility of rotating between our four hospitals, and if interested, there is a potential for night shifts.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
·Provide comprehensive health assessments, order and interpret appropriate tests, develop differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments/therapies for our acutely ill & hospitalized patients.
·Provide patient education to promote wellness and prevent illness and injury for individuals, families, and communities.
·Work autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams.
Our Hospitalist APPs are responsible for assisting in the admitting process of patients - seeing them through the Emergency Department, developing & initiating their care plan on general medical floors, and expediting care for observation patients.
Our Glenbrook or Highland Park Hospitalist APPs are responsible for co-management of orthopedic patients, managing care for elective ortho patients as well as developing and initiating the plan of care of ortho trauma patients working with hospitalist physicians .
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have:
·Current professional Advanced Practice or Physician Assistant Licensure (APN/PA) in the state of IL required
·DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
·BLS/CPR certification required
·Prior APN/PA experience in Adult Medicine, ER, Internal Medicine, or Hospitalist Medicine preferred, but all encouraged to apply as we are willing to train the right candidate.
