Job Summary
Under the direction of a Director of Residential Care, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct and indirect nursing care and assistance, meeting the psychosocial, spiritual and physical needs of the residents, within the scope of educational limitation and in accordance with physicians' orders, OHFLAC, OSHA, nursing and department guidelines. The LPN fulfills these duties to contribute to the continuity and quality of care, which fosters all residents and their family's best interest and well-being. Interacts with residents in a variety of ways and settings, including social, recreational, diversional and/or vocational ways.
Job Requirements
a. Minimum Education Requirement : Incumbent must be a graduate of a vocational-technical school for LPNs.
b. Minimum Experience Requirement : Effective interpersonal communication skills in order to instruct patients and their families and communicate with hospital staff.
c. Minimum License Requirement : Current West Virginia license, which is renewed on a yearly basis. Must possess BLS certification within probationary period.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Heavy Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.
