Educational Requirements
Graduate of accredited school of nursing with an active PA license
ANCC Psychiatric Mental Health and/or Addiction Nursing preferred
Qualifications
Current State License (RN or LPN); Current certification in CPR/BLS
A minimum of two years experience in a psychiatric setting and/or drug/alcohol facility preferred
Ability to communicate well, both orally and written
Ability to organize and facilitate patient care in an inpatient unit
Ability to work within a team structure.
Physical Requirements
Occasional heavy lifting to assist in moving or restraining patients (approx. 100 - 350 lb.).
Extensive walking and standing while performing duties required; ability to push med cart,
wheelchair to transport patients on campus; ability to climb at least three flights of stairs;
good oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions
Weekend and holiday duty per Nursing policy.
Exposure to infectious diseases.
Required to intervene in psychiatric emergencies.
