Job Summary: Under direct supervision of a licensed RN, the CNAs will provide basic nursing care to patients and/or residents in accordance with the patient’s and/or resident’s assessment and treatment plan. In addition, they will support and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and/or residents. Incumbents will be assigned a specific home unit but may be floated to other areas for additional support when needed. The CNA needs to be proficient in speaking English in order to accurately and effectively communicate with patients and/or residents. Patients include those from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, socio-economic standing, education, etc. Depending on the unit in which they are working, they may be required to learn specific skills necessary to provide the best care to patients and/or residents. Minimum Qualifications for the Job: Education: Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. License: Current State of Alaska Certified Nursing Assistant license. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). Completion and certification by Bartlett’s approved Behavioral Health Physical Intervention and Verbal De-escalation training program within ninety (90) days of hire . Experience: CNA I ($21.21 - $24.96/hour): No prior experience required. CNA I’s are required to complete initial advanced skills training checklists and advance to CNA II level within 6 months. CNA II ($24.90 - $29.29/hour) : Master entry level CNA I skills and duties and complete initial advanced skills training checklist within 6 months of hire. CNA II must maintain quarterly skills training checklists and competencies. Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
