Position Summary
Our bone health program is a multidisciplinary, ambulatory care service for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of metabolic bone diseases. Our Physicians and Midlevel Practitioners are leading experts in the clinical management of osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases. We provide individualized care tailored to each patient’s symptoms, bone density, risk factors and test results.
The clinic is located at the Center for Advanced Medicine with typical office hours Monday – Friday working exclusively with an outpatient population.
The ideal candidate would have current or recent endocrine experience.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care to include obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment via observation, interview and examination; orders, performs and interprets diagnostic tests; performs preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations and care; provides direct treatment and management of acute and chronic disease conditions; develops and implements patient-centered plan of care in collaboration with physicians, patients, consultants, nurses, ancillary care providers and others as appropriate to the patient's condition.
- Manages health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources; may perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations.
- May bill for services covered by collaborative practice agreement.
- Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
- Monitors/ensures accuracy of patient medical records; maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established clinic/hospital standards.
- Works in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Regularly participates in constant quality improvement and process improvement activities centered on the goal of providing exceptional, evidence-based patient care.
- Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
Preferred Qualifications
- Endocrinology specialty experience highly preferred specifically with emphasis on bone-related conditions.
Required Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
- Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis in the Nurse Practitioner program.
- APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire.
- Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online Basic Life Support certifications, those without a skills assessment component are not sufficient to meet the Basic Life Support requirement).
Or
Physician Assistant
- Graduate of PA program.
- Current PA licensure to practice in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois depending on location or ability to obtain within three months of date of hire; Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty; Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Salary Range
$84,600.00 - $152,300.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
