Job Summary and Qualifications
Have you always dreamed of working in the Emergency Department? Are you a current RN with at least 1 year of acute care experience? The ER Plus program is for you! Good Samaritan Hospital has a unique opportunity with the StaRN Plus.
There will be cohort starting on the following date:
Important things to keep in mind:
- For the first 4 weeks, attendance is mandatory for all scheduled training dates to remain in the program. The schedule will be Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm.
- Shift selections are not guaranteed and will be determined based off business needs. Shifts may not be determined until after cohort starts.
- Internal candidates must interview and have accepted offers within 3 weeks of the cohort start date for which you are applying for.
Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program! We invite registered nurses to apply for a unique opportunity to have didactic and clinical training by HealthTrust (a part of the HCA family).
- Didactic training: introduces nurses to core curriculum and hospital initiatives in a classroom setting (4 to 6 weeks)
- Simulation training: reinforces nursing skills learned in the didactic setting (1 week)
- Hands on training: with a facility preceptor in your nursing unit (6 to 8 weeks)
- Eight (8) weeks of interactive classroom discussions, case studies, hands-on skills training, and simulations with experienced StaRN clinical instructors

What qualifications you will need:
- Current California Nursing License
- Current ACLS, BCLS & PALS certification required
- Current TNCC, CEN & NEP preferred
- Emergency, Trauma & Critical Care experience preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program
- Continuing education pertaining to Emergency/Trauma Care preferred
- At least one-year acute hospital patient care required

- 6 months in current position
- No write ups in the last 6 months
