Program Overview:
The Urgent Care Fellowship is a minimum 9-month fully accredited, continuing specialty rotation that will provide enhanced clinical experience in the field of Urgent Care Medicine. The Fellow will have one on one preceptorship with the Urgent Care Clinical CoreFaculty, will learn through hands on care of patients, attend weekly didactic interactive lectures. All materials are supported by thedidactic curriculum, approved by our accrediting body.

The mission of the fellowship program is to provide fellows with comprehensive structure, cognitive and clinical education that will enable them to become competent, proficient and professional urgent care providers.
The goals and objectives of the urgent care fellowship program is to train fellows to
become proficient in the core competencies.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with Urgent Care teams under the tutelage of experienced NP/PA’s to provide care for patients in our sites, this includes:
- Examining, diagnosing, and treating patients of all ages with acute illnesses and injuries or exacerbations of chronic disease
- Ordering evidence-based testing, prescribing medications, and referring to outside specialists as required
- Providing occupational medicine services, including DOT exams and the treatment of Worker’s Compensation injuries
- Performing pre-participation physicals for camps, sports and employment
- Utilizing telemedicine platform to evaluate and treat patients off-site in addition to providing in person care
- Maintaining patient charts accurately and comprehensively
- Documenting patient information in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Completion of an AMA approved PA or FNP program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner
- Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence, and an active desire to learn
- Role may be unit, program, or service-based and involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives
