We fill our intern positions with candidates who have a desire to stay on the unit to which they are hired for an intern position, and to be considered for an RN promotion there.
Future RN position (if offered) will likely be full time nights, so must also be willing to commit long term to working night shift in the RN role.
West 10 – Surgical-Medical Unit
West 10 is a 24-bed acute care unit. Patients here include orthopedic, including orthopedic spinal fusion, plastics, ear/nose/throat surgery or those recovering from trauma. Nurses also care for hematology patients with sickle cell disease and bleeding disorders and oncology patients with viral illnesses. Some hematology.
Intern position requires one 12 hour shift per week and is a casual position that does not include benefits; flexibility to work a day or night shift based on preceptor
Interested in May 2024 grads- candidates with hospital cna experience preferred.
Start date either 12-11-23 or 1-8-24 and attendance will be REQUIRED on start date at New employee welcome day from 9a-4pm.
Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs nursing tasks for which he/she has been trained and has demonstrated competency through a skills checklist. Senior level status in any nursing program required. Ability to communicate and understand detailed instructions relating to basic patient care and transport. Must be able to work and stand for long periods, as well as lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds.
