A clinically competent Registered Nurse (RN) who provides care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The clinic staff nurse shall be responsible for all aspects of nursing care from initial triage through discharge. This position includes managing patient flow, communicating with and directing pre-hospital personnel, and performing emergency nursing assessment and treatment in a fast paced and fluid environment. The ability to rapidly solve problems, quickly change course, and deal with a wide variety of professional and patient needs is essential. Professional nursing staff are expected to attain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice following professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations. Nurses function collaboratively with patients, families and others in the conduct of nursing practice and are able to integrate ethical provision in all areas of practice. Nurses consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the planning and delivery of nursing services at Gunnison Valley Health.
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
Experience: Minimum one year of emergency or critical care nursing experience. Pre-hospital experience a plus.
Licenses/Certifications: R.N. licensed in the State of Colorado, or compact license. Maintenance of current BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS certification, TNCC and ENPC required after one year of hire. Additional training and certification in pre-hospital care, such as EMT, preferred.
Compensation: $30.83 - $39.06/hr, depending on experience.
