12 hour shifts 5:00 pm - 5:30 am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Supervises operations of the hospital while on shift including coordination of patient care, staff development and management, regulatory compliance, policy enforcement, and ensuring standards of nursing practice are met. Acts as a clinical resource for staff.
• Anticipates potential problems and intervenes to minimize adverse impacts. Independently manages the resolution of issues that arise during the course of the shift. Independently executes and manages decisions in the absence of the hospital administrator. Determines the need to contact the Administrator on call.
• Ensures that patient care is delivered in a manner that supports the Mission and Values of the hospital and promotes quality improvement, patient centered care, and interdepartmental/ interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Demonstrates professionalism, leadership, effective communication, and initiative in all job responsibilities and all duties.
• All other duties or responsibilities as assigned
• Accountability for compliance with laws, regulations, and policies to demonstrate ethical behavior.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
• Active and unencumbered State of California Registered Nursing license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certificate
• Telemetry certificate within 6 months of hire
EDUCATION PREFERRED
• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Master’s degree in related field
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Critical Care experience/ ED Experience
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
• Nursing management or other nursing leadership experience
