Responsibilities Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. Responsible for the performance of diversified nursing functions in emergency or other unpredictable situations requiring additional nursing care in addition to the basic Registered Professional Nurse job description. Responds to emergent situations as appropriate throughout the institution. Proactively evaluates high risk patients and responds to early warning systems (EWS) consults. Manages patients requiring extensive, invasive interventions and assists with emergent respiratory support. Works independently and gives direction to other members of the health care team. Other duties and competencies as assigned.

Qualifications Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program | Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to function well under stress |
Current state nursing license | Strong medical-surgical, critical care and neuroscience clinical expertise |
BLS/ACLS/ NIH/ upon hire | Working knowledge of commonly used computer applications |
Preferred minimum of two (2) years current critical care experience | Refer to Section IV “Unit/Department Specialty Specific Requirements” for additional minimal qualifications and/or certifications |
Demonstrated knowledge of growth and development and possess ability to assess, interact, communicate, and care for age specific patient population | Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility |
