Position Summary: Works with providers, clinic staff, operational leaders and IT to test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain clinical applications and other associated systems in the acute care or ambulatory space.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leverages basic to intermediate knowledge of computer system and serves as resource and model in the use of computer system inclusive of sharing tips, training, retraining and identification of optimization opportunities in alignment with best practice.
- Primary responsibilities include working with providers, clinic staff, operational leaders and IT to test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain clinical applications and other associated systems in the acute care or ambulatory space
- Works closely with IT Teams ongoing to log issues, facilitate issue resolution including intermediate troubleshooting skills and performs necessary testing and validation.
- Performs minor IT build and maintains license administration and maintenance of Provider only applications such as DMO, EPCS, eRX, PerfectServe and other Provider only licenses.
- Coordinates training for new applications or functionality; including Train the Trainer, Subject Matter Experts, onboard training and refresher training when necessary.
- Assists with executing change management strategy including communication to stakeholders with job aides to aide in transition and adoption.
- Hybrid onsite vs remote as rounding on clinics at regular intervals or as needed for issue resolution, or support of major implementations is expected.
- On call rotation required for after-hours support
Required Qualifications:
Education and Training:
- Associates degree in healthcare, IT related field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2-5 years ofexperience in ambulatory or hospital setting workflow or previous informatics experience.
- Recent experience with health information technology or application support experience is a plus ideally with Cerner EMR, Dragon Medical One and/or Eprescribe
- Basic knowledge of current healthcare practice with conceptual and practical understanding of various training techniques for users with various learning styles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and physicians.
- Effective documentation skills are essential.
