The Breast Oncology Nurse Practitioner performs a vital role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group dedication to deliver effective and efficient quality health care services to its patients. Together, the collaborative Physician and NP will share responsibility for the health and welfare of our Breast Oncology members.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Follow protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care.
- Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non‐urgent presentation.
- Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
- Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnosis included.
- Write orders for tests, procedures, and the implementation and management of therapies by following company protocols.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician.
- Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gasses, radiology, EKG, etc.
- Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow‐up notes.
Working hours for this role:
- Monday - Friday: 8am to 5pm
- No calls
- No weekends
Educational Requirements:
- Master of Science Degree in Nursing is required
Licenses:
- RN State License California State RN License Upon Hire is required
- Nurse Practitioner National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner is required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) BCLS Certification Upon Hire is required
- Drug Enforcement Administration NP Furnishing and DEA license required or eligible to obtain. Upon Hire
Experience:
- One (1) year experience preferred, preferably in a Oncology setting.
- Breast Oncology experience preferable
