This is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Patient Access services. This nurse position is entrusted with care coordination and oversight for two novel psychiatric treatments: Ketamine and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). Responsibilities will be split between these two treatments. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients undergoing ketamine treatment and proper management of medications, including controlled substances. Additionally, the nurse will be responsible for patient care coordination for ECT patients undergoing treatment. Patient care and safety is the utmost duty and coordination with clinical care teams across sites. Psychiatric experience is preferred. Incumbent report to the Patient Access Manager. Required travel between UCSD sites, including Hillcrest and Rancho Bernardo.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. The nurse will complete live reviews with the insurance company.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN License issued by the State of California.
BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Minimum two (2) years RN experience with at least one (1) year working with psychiatric population.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
BSN.
Experience with interventional psychiatric treatments (i.e., ketamine and electroconvulsive therapy).
Experience with EPIC, EMR.
Previous UCSD Experience.
Bilingual in both Spanish and English.

Annual Full Pay Range: $116,886 - $163,825 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $55.98 - $78.46
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
