Overview
Responsible for creating, leading, and executing signature events, special events, third-party events, and other Foundation events strategies. The Special Events Manager partners with colleagues in annual giving, major gifts, and communications to ensure a strategic and inter-woven approach to event marketing and uses events as a key donor cultivation strategy. Additionally, is responsible for creating a comprehensive plan to engage the community through in-person events. This includes creating marketing strategies for all events and project managing the execution of key timelines designed to increase revenue and engage all Riverside Foundation audiences. Oversees and coordinates all event logistics while maintaining vendor relationships. Partners with the Chief Philanthropy Officer and Philanthropic Gift Officers to ensure special events strategically support pipeline development. Manages internal and external volunteers to help advance the Foundation initiatives. Additionally, manages multiple projects, deadlines and competing priorities, and will be measured by key performance indicators and fundraising metrics.

What you will do
- Oversees, implements, and partners to execute innovative and strategic signature and special events including owning event logistics, vendor relationships, managing third-party fundraising initiatives, and managing internal and external volunteers and partners as a tool to increase awareness of the Foundation.
- Creates and partners to execute marketing strategies for all Foundation events, including printed invitations, email marketing, social media strategy, web initiatives, videos, and media relations in conjunction with departmental messaging and solicitation goals. Project manages and ensures key marketing timelines and milestones are met while partnering with Donor Engagement and Communication team members in Annual Giving and Stewardship.
- Works with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, Philanthropic Gift Officers, and others to execute events that assist in pipeline development and cultivation of major gift donors.
- Management of vendor relationships for productivity, quality control and effectiveness with a focus on efficiency of process, implementation of services, and cost.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors Degree, Related Field (Required)
Experience
- 2 years Experience in fundraising event planning and management, to include vendor relationships and budgets (Required)
- 1 year Experience working for a health-related non-profit organization, foundation (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong project management and event management skills.
- Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.
- Possess a strong work ethic, with the ability to think strategically and creatively
