Overview
Under the Direction of the AVP of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing directs the clinical and
administrative functions of assigned nursing units to ensure high quality, effective patient care and
effective use of labor and non-labor resources. Works with the senior nursing management leadership
team to evaluate nursing services and patient care; assists with planning, developing, and implementing
policies, procedures and standards for patient services and monitors reporting units for compliance.
Participates in the selection and development of effective leadership teams of clinical managers and
professional staff.
