Assists professional nursing staff by performing specific patient care tasks, within the scope of practice for Nurse Intern.

  • Qualifications:
  • Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of 2nd semester of nursing (or its equivalent) and enrollment in 3rdor 4thsemester of nursing at an accredited college or university.

  • Training and Experience:
  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.
  • Completion of the following competencies per instruction and agreement (not allowed to complete shaded areas until graduation and GN permit achieved)
  • Demonstrate Nursing Process elements within 3 months of hire or transfer:
  • Assessment
  • Diagnosis
  • Planning
  • Intervention
  • Evaluation

Essential Job Functions Under the direction of the RN preceptor, provides patient care through an interdisciplinary approach by assessing, planning, providing care and evaluating outcomes.
