About the Role:
The Full-time BMS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our Neurology office plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within a specialized neurological setting. This position is responsible for supporting neurologists by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure efficient office operations and excellent patient experiences. The successful candidate will manage patient intake, assist with neurological assessments, administer medications and treatments as directed, and maintain accurate medical records. They will also collaborate closely with the healthcare team to monitor patient progress and provide education on neurological conditions and treatment plans. Ultimately, this role contributes to improved patient outcomes by facilitating seamless clinical workflows and compassionate care delivery in a neurology-focused environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid LPN or CMA certification/license in the United States.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in neurology or a related specialty.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and neurological conditions.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and medication administration safely.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a neurology office or neurological care environment.
- Additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
- Familiarity with neurological diagnostic equipment and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for neurological examinations by recording vital signs, medical histories, and current symptoms.
- Assist neurologists during patient exams and procedures, including nerve conduction studies and other diagnostic tests.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and documentation standards.
- Manage patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and coordinate referrals to specialists or diagnostic services.
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) with accurate clinical information and treatment notes.
- Educate patients and their families on neurological conditions, medication regimens, and lifestyle modifications.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and office policies.
