Overview
Reports to the Patient Care Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, the CNA provides specific direct patient care activities and performs related support functions within his/her scope of responsibility as specified in this job description.
Responsibilities
- Responds appropriately in an emergent situation as per hospital policy.
- Utilizes principles of Infection Control in the delivery of care.
- Accurately performs and records vital signs including blood pressure
- Monitors and records patient intake and output accurately
- Provides for patient’s personal care needs-hygiene, toileting, feeding and bed making
- Performs waive testing according to policy and procedure
- Observes care of patients on suicidal, constant and safety precautions
- Transport patients as assigned.
- Implements restraints according to policy and procedure.
Qualifications
High School or GED required. BCLS and completed certified Nursing Assistant course.
