Job Summary:
The Manager plans, develops, and administers the technical education program for the organization in accordance with adult learning principles, learning strategies, and fully supporting the organization's mission, vision, and values. The Manager works directly with the supervisors and staff members of the team to define and develop Technology team members consistent with enterprise technology education strategies. This position is directly responsible for management of the TED team including assignment of work, monitoring of performance, conducting performance reviews, recruitment, hiring, making salary recommendations, taking disciplinary action when needed, assisting with development and maintenance of the department budget, assisting with development and documentation of department job standards, goals, and strategies. This position will assist the leadership in the organization in the development of enterprise-focused technology training and education strategies to support enterprise strategic initiatives. Reports to the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer. Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of five years related experience is required. A minimum of two years supervisory experience is required. Extensive adult education experience and adult learning experience is required. Instructional design experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Bachelor's degree in related field is required.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Functional strategic planning process appropriate for education within the healthcare industry. Principles of supervision and training. Budgeting and fiscal management. Effective project management. Familiar with e-learning development tools preferred. Ability to teach others. Strong leadership skills.
