Virtual Medical Assistant, Annual Wellness Visit Program
Mass General Brigham’s Population Health Team is growing! This is a new role that supports a new provider as we launch a new program. The Medical Assistant position is Full Time with comprehensive benefits.
You will be working mostly remote from home. Virtual visits are done from your secure home office! Every other Tuesday is required to be onsite at Assembly Row conducting virtual visits from our headquarters.
Job Summary
Mass General Brigham’s Population Health team is committed to improving preventive care delivery for older adults through innovative, accessible, and patient-centered virtual care.
You will support the new Annual Wellness Visit Program. You will also have the opportunity to support other programs, of similar patient populations, to support patient volumes.
Under the direct supervision of a provider, the Population Health Medical Assistant plays a critical role in this mission by partnering with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to deliver seamless, high-quality virtual visits. Through careful preparation, documentation, and patient engagement, the PHSO Medical Assistant (MA) ensures each visit is efficient, comprehensive, and personalized to the patient’s needs.
This position supports the Population Health team’s broader goal within the new program.
1. Increasing completion rates for Annual Wellness Visits among Medicare patients.
2. Enhancing access to preventive care through virtual modalities.
3. Reducing provider administrative burden and optimizing clinical workflows.
4. Coordinating follow-up visits
5. Assisting to gather information outstanding to close care gaps
6. Supporting PHSO programs annual wellness visits, cardiac kidney metabolic, advanced chronic kidney disease programs in clinical support responsibilities as a medical assistant to these teams
As part of the Population Health department, this role contributes to Mass General Brigham’s systemwide efforts to improve quality, equity, and patient experience while supporting sustainable, value-based care for aging populations.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No
- Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant - Active Certification required
- Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years at least required
- Experience with annual visits, rooming and supporting geriatric patients who receive Medicare benefits is a plus
Skills for Success
The MA supports geriatric population and supports the provider. MA will conduct wellness visits virtually. This role conducts virtual annual assessments. Duties include conducting initial assessment and virtual rooming, vital signs, as well as risk assessment is important with patients to update provider on their history.

- Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
- Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Managing one's own time and the time of others

- Daily shifts start at 8am or 830am ET, must be flexible for provider schedule
- Onsite at Assembly Row, 1x every two weeks on Tuesdays. Virtual visits are completed from the office
