Summary:
Coordinates the Region educational plan for the department of Care Management. Support audiences include all Care Management staff and department managers and hospital administration. Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and professional development of clinical staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, delivers, and assesses learning activities and curricula related to clinical competencies, departmental/organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and the use of clinical information technologies.
  • Serves as a consultant/mentor for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development. Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of new staff orientation and education activities.
  • Develops/implements the regional educational plan including competencies for the department of Care Management Region orientation of new staff which is comprehensive and individualized with one-on-one training. Collaborate with other Region educators to provide education and support as needed.
  • Education and support for implementation and ongoing use of new electronic medical record system and supplemental ancillary computer systems. Ongoing education based on analysis of outcomes from chart audits.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Preferred: Master's degree.
  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Preferred: Accredited Case Manager (ACM) or Certified Case Manager (CCM). Relevant certification as determined at position level.
  • 3 years of care management experience.
