What you'll do

Under general supervision of the Clinical Care Coordinator (C3), provides registration support to facilitate patient flow and non-clinical administrative support for center activities.

  • Clerical.
  • Registers direct admission and hospital transfer patients so that bed placement can occur and an active patient account is available prior to arrival, to accommodate Physician office order entry
  • Monitors Intake Logistics for Registration requests and activities
  • Serves as a registration expert, troubleshooting and correcting registration oversights to ensure patient flow is not impeded
  • Verifies patient’s insurance eligibility for direct admits and facility transfers; obtains authorization if necessary
  • Assists C3s (Hub and Unit) with referrals; faxes and photocopies medical record information as needed for post-acute patient placement to facilitate timely discharges
  • Updates/corrects insurance information; notifies appropriate departments to ensure accurate financial data is available.
  • Provides administrative support to facility C3s as appropriate
  • Manage registration for discharge-readmit cases as well as interrupted stay cases
  • Updates bedded patient status. Ex: Observation to Inpatient; Inpatient to Observation when needed
  • Supports Hub C3 as needed
  • Assists Hub C3 with bed placement, registration, facility transfer, and other tasks as assigned
  • Uses data collection tools to reflect activities, as noted by review of documentation
  • Updates bedded patient status. Ex: Observation to Inpatient; Inpatient to Observation when needed
  • Updates bed request in Care Logistics software to provide accurate information including patient attributes for bed placement.
  • Collects patient’s insurance authorization for medications and discharge needs
  • Notifies payer, as required, of patient’s admission and level of care —either online or via
    telephone
  • Assists in the submission of medical information to payers and community care providers as needed
  • Receives referrals from Unit C3 for discharge planning assistance
  • Follow up with post-acute care facilities on bed holds
  • Verifies patient’s insurance eligibility for direct admits and facility transfers; obtains authorization if necessary.
  • Updates/corrects insurance information; notifies appropriate departments to ensure accurate financial data is available.
  • Collaboration.
  • Actively communicates with multidisciplinary healthcare team (Primary Nurse, nurse manager, C3, etc.)
  • Communicates potential admissions to facilitate system wide planning by entering bed request in Care Logistics software.
  • Contacts referral destination in person, by phone, fax or EPIC to notify of early alert and final alert.
  • Performs Other Duties.

What we need from you

Education/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience working with regulatory programs, administrative/secretarial in a professional setting, or patient scheduling/registration experience, required
  • Associate degree or higher will waive the experience requirement

Pay Range

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

USD $17.32/Hr.
