Job Summary and Qualifications
Assists in management of department services by scheduling patients, data entry, clinical and medical support. Records vital signs, patient histories, assists in diagnostic\treatment examinations, performs phlebotomy and waived testing. Performs registration process, enters charges, patient demographics, verifies insurance coverage and demonstrates positive guest relations.
What you will do in this role:
- Provides accurate information to inquiry callers.
- Refers requests for clinical information to the appropriate member of the team.
- Observes established policy and procedures to accept appropriate referrals.
- Accurately enters patient data, charges and verify insurance coverage.
- Accurately advises and collects patient co-pay for services rendered.
- Balances money drawer daily and submits payments to hospital cashier.
- Ensures an adequate inventory of office and clinic supplies.
- Accurately files charts and prints laboratory results.
- Recognizes abnormal vital signs, test results and /or other changes in client’s condition and reports them to NP\PA in a timely manner.
- Assured all exam and specimen collection instruments are kept clean and ready.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Certification from accredited Medical Assistant Program
- National Registry for Medical Assistant preferred
