How you’ll make an impact in this role
Deliver direct nursing care following the organization's established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Make sure patient care is super smooth and never stops by getting everyone (all the different teams) on the same page.
- Create, start, and regularly check on the patient's care plans.
- Keep excellent notes on how the patient is doing, let the right people know right away if anything changes, and make sure all the doctor's and nurse's orders get done.
- Work with the healthcare team to figure out what the patient needs for when they leave the hospital.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
What additional preferences we're seeking
Our Multispecialty Surgical nurses are vital in decision-making, mentoring, and collaboration for a highly acute surgical oncology and general surgery patient population in a fast-paced department. We focus on professional growth in this specialized and rewarding environment.
Achievement: Accredited by the ASC Commission on Cancer.
- Surgical Oncology (including Head and Neck): Pre/post-operative cancer care (pain management, Intake and Output monitoring, nutrition, drain/tube management, ambulation, wound care, and discharge teaching).
- General Surgery: Pre/post-operative care or medical management for surgical readiness.
