FTE: 1.0, Shift: day, Schedule: 6:45am to 5:45pm, Mon - Fri with Wednesday OFF Position Summary The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers. Responsibilities: Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff Interviewing patients Obtaining vital signs Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: Sending and receiving of patient medical records Facilitating patient referrals Preparing forms for patients Requirements: Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred Current BLS certification About Covington Medical Center MultiCare Covington Medical Center, a four-story, 58-bed hub, serves southeast King County with inpatient and outpatient surgical care, a birth center, primary and specialty care, urgent care, 24-hour Emergency Department, pharmacy, lab and imaging services. Participates in the orientation of new consumers to KFHPWs policies and procedures. Demonstrates an awareness of the Consumer Bill of Rights and Responsibilities. According to the educational plan determined by the professional provider, provides instruction to the patient and family/significant others. Provides instruction that matches learning needs and the nursing plan of care. Encourages patient compliance with therapeutic and medical regimens. Under the direction of the professional provider, provides the patient with preventive care information that matches his/her age, sex, and health status. Utilizes available health education resources. Reinforces the plan with patient to improve general health status. Accurately documents selected patient history observations and procedures. Adheres to KFHPW documentation standards. Provides each patient a safe, comfortable, and private environment. Provides a safe environment for each patient and adheres to KFHPW safety standards. Wage Range: $24.91 - $39.85 per hour - MA State Certified Wage Range: $27.45 - $43.92 per hour - Nationally Certified Bonus: Up to $10,000.00 for those new to EvergreenHealth and a minimum of one year of experience.
