Riley Hospital is excited to announce the upcoming opening of our brand-new Pediatric Behavioral Health (BH) Unit, set to debut in the summer of 2026! This innovative, 11-bed specialized unit will provide comprehensive care for children and teens with complex mental and medical health needs. As a vital member of this pioneering team, you will help launch a state-of-the-art facility that seamlessly integrates psychiatric treatment with medical care.
Who You’ll Care For:
- Children and teens with behavioral challenges linked to medical conditions such as traumatic brain injuries, substance use, autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders, and complex psychiatric needs.
- Patients requiring ongoing treatments like IV meds, G-tubes, wound care, or cyclic vomiting—delivering holistic, integrated care.
- Structured psychiatric programs including creative therapies, social work, and virtual activities for those unable to participate in bed.
Who Are We Looking For?
- Experienced RNs with inpatient med surg and/or psychiatric backgrounds are preferred not but required

Qualifications:
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
