Waukesha Memorial General Surgical/Women’s Health/Pediatric Unit is a fast paced, high acuity unit with 25 beds. The unit serves a variety of patients who have undergone surgery including Gynecological, Vascular, Urological, and Gastrointestinal. The pediatric population is a variety of children with complaints of dehydration, respiratory illnesses, orthopedic injuries and general surgeries. The unit is a place where you will gain experience in diversity from newborn to geriatric clientele. Schedule Details: This 0.4 FTE commits to 16 hours per week of 8-hour shifts (2300-0730). Every other weekend rotation and holiday rotation. This is not a temporary or seasonal position.

What You Will Do:

We are currently searching for a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide support to the staff and patients on the unit. Qualified candidates will work independently providing resource information and general nursing care to patients. Completes clerical tasks related to regulatory annual requirements, audits and patient processes.

What You Will Need:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) - active or exipred on registry
Must have a strong interest in customer service, able to multi task, work independently with little supervision.
Passionate about providing excellent patient care and able to demonstrate compassion at the end of life.

Our second floor unit includes an Orthopedic Center for Excellence with a 24 bed unit focusing on for total hip, shoulder and knee replacements patients and cares for orthopedic fractures. We also serve a small medical population. Our three south unit includes an 11 bed unit with medical patients and general surgical patients. These patients include: sepsis, cardiac, stroke, renal, CHF, COPD, respiratory illnesses. The surgical population includes appendectomy, small bowel obstructions and various other surgeries. The Medical Surgical Unit at Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital is focused on the needs of the patient and helping one another to meet those needs. Our patient management on both units may include telemetry monitoring, continuous medication infusions, wounds, varieties of tubes and drains. There are approximately 60 staff members that include experienced and newer staff including, CNA’s, RN’s, and Unit Clerks.
