A school-based registered nurse is needed to provide individualized care for students with complex medical needs. This role requires one-on-one nursing support in a classroom setting, supporting children aged 3 to 15, many of whom are wheelchair-bound and require ventilator management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized nursing care to a small group of seven students within an educational environment.
- Manage ventilator support and other medical equipment safely and effectively.
- Monitor health status and respond promptly to any medical emergencies.
- Collaborate with educational staff to ensure a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of care provided.
- Communicate with families and healthcare providers as necessary to coordinate care plans.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
- Proven experience providing 1:1 nursing care in pediatric or educational settings.
- Skilled in ventilator management and caring for wheelchair-dependent children.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
