As a staff nurse you are instrumental in managing operations of your assigned unit. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Guttenberg Care Center by assisting with supervising the activities of all clinical staff on your assigned unit, providing guidance and education to clinical staff, assisting with instilling a positive and inclusive facility culture, ensuring established infection prevention practices are maintained and ensuring adequate staffing for our resident’s needs. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive an unparalleled standard of care.

As a minimum, an unencumbered State of Iowa (or compact state) Registered Nurse (R.N.) license; experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting is preferable.

Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions, alerting the medical team as needed. Provide comprehensive patient care throughout their ICU stay, ensuring comfort and well-being. Complete accurate and timely documentation, including patient records and transfer paperwork. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical directives. Utilize health information technology and electronic health records (EHR) to maintain accurate patient data. Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as an ICU RN or Critical Care RN. Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact state). Proficiency in using health information systems and EHR. Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days and nights. Exceptional empathy, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-stress and emotionally demanding environment. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. CCRN certification preferred.
