A school-based registered nurse position is available to provide comprehensive healthcare services to students in an elementary school setting. This contract role runs from February 19th through May 21st and focuses on delivering specialized nursing care within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary classroom nurse for a group of 7 students, ages 3 to 15, all of whom use wheelchairs.
- Monitor and manage ventilator support and related medical equipment for students requiring respiratory assistance.
- Administer medications, perform health assessments, and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and coordinate with families and healthcare providers.
- Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with school health policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience working with pediatric patients, specifically in school or pediatric nursing environments.
- Proficiency in ventilator care and management for pediatric patients.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Compassionate approach with the ability to support children with complex medical needs.
