Full Time: 14 shifts/month, Schedules are created two months in advance with team input and offer flexibility with weekend and holiday rotations.

Responsibilities NP will be responsible for care of maximum of 8-9 pts a day. NP will be responsible each day for a maximum of two new intake evaluations and treatment plan for new patients each day. These evaluations will be attested by medication director at completion of each assessment documentation. NP will be responsible for treatment plan and reviewing all collateral information and communication with the families and outpatient teams for each patient day of or within the first 24-48 hours. NP will also be responsible for at least 1-3 discharges a day of any patients deemed appropriate for discharge or other circumstances i.e. parent or patient withdrawing from treatment and will be responsible for communicating the stature of discharge i.e. voluntary discharge, discharge against medical advice or administrative discharge. NP will be responsible for following up on all the remainder of their patients on their case load for the day and document the progress updates. NP will put in admission orders or review and make corrections as per their evaluations, will order baseline and follow up laboratory blood work as deemed necessary and follow up on reports and communicate with patient and family. NPs are expected to attend daily team rounding meetings on the unit in person Mon-Fri. NP’s will provide at least 1 to 2 nights of call coverage on pager depending on the weekend that they may be on call. NP’s will provide in person 24 coverage on Sat and Sun at least once every 5th week and will have the same responsibilities however the case load on the weekend will be a maximum of 12-13 patients and the rest of expectations for admissions, progress follow ups and discharges will remain the same as on weekdays. NP’s will be responsible for collaborating with ancillary staff members involved in their patients care ie nursing, social workers and mental health technicians. NP’s will be responsible for keeping up with all licensure requirements and update on their workday profile. All annual mandatory trainings as directed by the system will have to be maintained and reported to MD. NP will be responsible for providing PTO requests at least 2-4 weeks in advance to Medical Director for approval and be responsible for formal request on UKG. To be considered for the role, please apply at the following link: Position Details - Academic Personnel & Faculty Description The Department of Radiation Oncology has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Teaching Associate- Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA-C). The successful candidate’s primary site of practice will be UWMC-Northwest Gamma Knife Center, but may be asked to shift work to other UW/FHCC Radiation Oncology sites of practice if the clinical need arises. The selected candidate will be proposed for appointment to the full-time faculty as a Teaching Associate at the University of Washington with an anticipated start date of July 2026 or earlier. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The Radiation Oncology APP is a certified advanced practice provider whose integrated role encompasses both clinical care and education. The ARNP/PA-C functions collaboratively with attending physicians and as a key member of the interdisciplinary oncology team. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical judgment, a high degree of professional autonomy, and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver exemplary, evidence-based oncology care.
