Position Details:

The Medical Surgical unit, also known as Med-Surg, is a specialty unit that makes up the foundation of nursing. The Medical Surgical unit at Mercy Pittsburg is a 32 bed unit that manages acute medical surgical patients with a wide range of diagnoses and care needs. Functionally, this unit houses and cares for patients who are preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions. Given the generalized nature of the Med-Surg unit and the amount of variation in patient conditions, the acuity of patients vary.

Qualifications: 

  • Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school

  • License: current RN license in our state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
