Shifts Available: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility and on call rotation
Purpose of this position:
The purpose of this position is to reduce risk to organization related to patient/resident care. The Unit Manager will be responsible for assisting with the oversight of the nursing staff in addition to admission evaluation and planning, discharge documentation and maintaining the highest level of resident care.
Essential Job Functions:

Ensure that the unit operates efficiently, meets its goals, manages resources effectively, and coordinates with other units or departments as needed.

Lead staff in delivering exceptional care to residents and support to their family members.

Maintain resident records according to State and Federal guidelines.

Help to maintain and restore health of resident.

Acts as a main point of contact between residents and their families.

Addresses and assist in preventing concerns from family members.

Assists in developing, implementing, and making adjustments to patient care plans as needed.

Supervises, counsels, and provides discipline, when necessary, to nurse staff to ensure the highest quality of care possible.

Ensures their unit meets federal and state regulatory standards, as well as facility policies and procedures.

Collaborates with the Director of Nursing, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians to plan and maintain resident care.

Completes admission and discharge assessments.

Oversees and audits changes made to care plans.

Delivers hands-on care and medicine distribution as needed.

Audits and completes charting, evaluations, medical forms, and other administrative tasks.

Identifies procedural problems and works with the Director of Nursing to resolve issues.

Evaluates, prioritizes and meets the care needs of each resident.
Other necessary job functions:

Participate in Quality Assurance, Safety, PIPs and other committees as required.

Provide a safe working environment for staff members, promptly reporting any accidents and implement corrective and preventive action appropriately

Participate in daily morning meetings.

Provide education and coaching to nursing staff as needed to improve patient/resident outcomes.

Provide clinical backup to floors as needed.

Take weekend on-call according to the assigned on-call rotation schedule (if applicable).

Complete Chart audits for Medicaid patients monthly.

Develop and maintain the nursing policies and procedures as needed.

Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
Registered Nurse with license in good standing in the state of Nebraska or any other Compact/Multi-state.

Active CPR/BLS Required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrate experience working with older adults in a resident-centered care role.
