Requirements


What You’ll Do:

  • Provide a level of care that goes beyond the traditional urgent care setting
  • Ensure comprehensive care for patients of all ages
  • Procedures to include EKG and X-ray interpretation, abscess incision and drainage, infection management, reduction of dislocations, splinting of fractures, laceration repair, IV hydration, and medication administration
  • Serve as a role model and leader for the clinical team
  • Communicate test results, follow-up care, and treatment plans
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with Physicians
  • Work with an energetic, highly-trained support team, including many shifts with a scribe

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board Certified (or Board Eligible) Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience with procedures such as suturing and abscess I&D
  • Experience with reading diagnostics studies, including X-rays and EKGs
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care highly preferred
  • ACLS and PALS Certification preferred

Pediatric Heart Center Nurse Practitioner

Additional Information About the Role Location: St. Louis Children's Hospital One Children's Place St. Louis, MO 63110 The Heart Center at St. Louis Children's Hospital is the region's largest pediatric heart center, nationally recognized as a top heart program. They have extensive experience treating children with common to complex heart issues, from cardiac surgeries and cardiac catheterizations to heart monitoring. They are the region’s go-to heart program for second opinions and referrals for advanced pediatric heart care. The Heart Center Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing care to infants, children, and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease in the Intensive Care Unit and on the Transitional Care unit. This patient population includes, but is not limited to, pre and/or post-operative cardiac surgery patients, dysrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, pre and post-operative care of heart and lung transplants, and patients requiring Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) or Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation.
