Role Purpose

The nurse practitioner functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider, working in a multidisciplinary health team to provide care to patients and families across subspecialty practice settings. They demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise with acute and chronic illnesses encountered within the inpatient and outpatient subspecialty settings. Responsibilities

Provides patient- and family-centered care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for health recovery, illness prevention, disease treatment, or end-of-life care.

Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for subspecialty patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.
