Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners who have urgent care or emergency room experience, treating both adult and pediatric patients, to join our welcoming and diverse communities of Portland and Vancouver providers.

Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Treat both pediatric and adult patient populations (all ages, 6 months old and up)

Perform minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints, etc.), and provide preliminary reads of EKGs and X-rays.

Make diagnoses and prescribe treatments/medications.

Collaborative work environment with the opportunity to work with a dedicated Scribe at our busier centers.

Work in state-of-the-art centers are equipped with advanced technology, including an integrated EPIC EMR.

Collaborate with on-site Rad Techs, Medical Assistants and Paramedics for support.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 1 year of fulltime experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting as a NP or PA is required

Physician Assistants: Master’s degree and NCCPA Certification is required

Our Advanced Practice Providers team with DHMTs (Medical Technicians) and are equipped with everything needed to treat common to complex injuries and illnesses through comprehensive health assessments, including diagnosis, treatment, and outcome management, for patients of all ages. Our innovative model allows us to provide definitive care in the home, including point of care laboratory studies, minor procedures, splinting, wound care, suturing, IV fluid and medication administration. We provide whole person care by facilitating timely follow up and care coordination. Our providers love working at DispatchHealth because we are a leader in delivering high-quality, in-home acute care services. In 2024, they achieved significant milestones, including completing 476,428 acute care visits, advanced care admissions, and imaging studies. Their high-acuity care services diverted 61% of emergency room visits. They provided hospital-level care at home to over 1,400 patients, maintaining a low 8.4% 30-day readmission rate. Additionally, they enhanced patient experience with mobile imaging, ensuring seamless end-to-end in-home care. Patient satisfaction remains a top priority, with an impressive Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 97 across all service lines. Their commitment to excellence was further recognized as they became the first in-home provider to receive ACHC accreditation for their hospital-level Advanced Care service. In the POR market along with our standard Acute care DUO service line we have a unique partnership with Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue. A 2-year grant has been provided to operate a pilot program staffing an APP with an Advanced Practice Community Paramedic to help reduce unnecessary emergency room transports and address non-emergent healthcare needs. We will work 12-hour shifts on Tues, Wed, and Thurs to see patients in up to 63 licensed care facilities.
