Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care in a diverse healthcare environment in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

The Pediatric Peritoneal Dialysis Coordinator, under the direction of the Clinic Administrator, is responsible for the clinical management of the dialysis unit and the supervision of all nursing personnel in order to ensure a safe dialysis treatment for all patients. The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for directing nursing care in the dialysis facility in accordance with DCI’s policies and procedures, Network/IPRO, OSHA, CMS, federal, state and local regulations. This position will cover the Austin Pediatric outpatient unit (HD & PD) and Pediatric Hospital Services (HD & PD). Schedule : Full-time, five 8-hour days; Sundays off; no overnight shifts Compensation : Pay range from $38-$43 per hour, depending on nursing and dialysis experience. Supervise and monitor direct patient care provided by PCTs, LPNs, and RNs including but not limited to initiating, monitoring and terminating dialysis treatments as well as physical assessment of patients. Monitor overall performance and clinical outcomes for the facility in collaboration with the Medical Director and Clinic Administrator. Audit flowsheets to ensure transcription and implementation of Physician’s orders is completed. Participate in QAPI and supports outcome management through appropriate action plans. Collaborate with the Clinic Administrator for patient care staffing, matching patient needs with staff capabilities and experiences to maximize staffing resources. Collaborate with the Clinic Administrator on the scheduling of patients to ensure all patients are treated in a timely manner. Assist in the teaching and training of new staff members as directed by the Nurse Educator - i.e., machines, ROS, procedures etc. Act as the Subject Matter Expert and assist nurse educator with training for staff in all clinical systems.
