This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse position serving K-12 schools in Liberty, Missouri. The assignment is a contract role for the current school year, beginning as soon as possible and concluding May 28th. This float nurse position supports multiple schools, covering general health room duties. After an initial two-week training period alongside an experienced nurse, you will independently manage health room operations within the assigned school.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to students across PreK-12, addressing acute and chronic health needs.
  • Manage and independently run the health room after initial training.
  • Utilize computerized charting systems to document all nursing activities accurately.
  • Adapt to fluctuating daily schedules, which may vary between 7:00 AM–2:30 PM and 9:00 AM–4:30 PM based on school level and special events.
  • Remain flexible to schedule changes communicated weekly or on short notice due to field trips or staff absences.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and families regarding health concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Missouri with no active disciplinary actions.
  • Recent pediatric nursing experience preferred, ideally in ICU, ER, or school nursing settings.
  • Proficiency with computer technology and electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to multitask and manage independent health room operations.
  • Comfort working with a wide age range of students, from PreK through 12th grade.
  • Flexibility to accommodate variable scheduling.

Location: Liberty, Missouri (no travel required)
