Position Details:

Qualifications: 

  • Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school

  • License: current RN license in our state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association

Registered Nurse - Clinical Educator - Cath Lab

About Us - Cardiac Cath The Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) is designated by the state of Missouri as a level I STEMI center. The CCL provides specialized diagnostic and interventional services for both inpatient and outpatient adults. The CCL is committed to staying at the cutting edge of heart disease diagnosis and treatment by utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and equipment in our lab. Procedures that are included but not limited to: cardiac and peripheral diagnostics and revascularizations, electrophysiology studies, structural heart procedures, and vascular embolization. The normal hours of operation for the CCL are Monday through Friday 6:30am to 7:00pm with extended hours until 9:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On call critical care/emergency services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call is a requirement for this department with a required 20-minute staff response time. The call-team members consist of a Cardiologist, RN circulators, cath lab technologists, or Special Procedure Technologists. Schedule: Part Time (20hrs/week) What You’ll Do Utilizing knowledge, education, experience, and competence, the RN-Clinical Educator will function in an expanded clinical role within cardiac cath services and in collaboration with leadership to enhance the overall education experience for staff, new hires, apprentices, and outside entities that use FHS services for a clinical rotation site. In addition, will assist department leaders in assessing the ongoing educational needs of the department. Will assist in improving and maintaining a quality preceptorship and mentoring program. Will promote overall coordination, cohesiveness, and quality of cardiac cath education. Requirements Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
