The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner examines and treats patients who have been referred to the hospital for mental health or substance abuse treatment under the guidance of staff physicians.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Conducts general history and physical evaluations with problem focused areas of evaluation for all patients with assurance that patient history forms, medication lists, procedure lists, and problem lists are addressed.
  2. Accurately perform problem-focused evaluations of medical problems with treatments including medication prescribing and instructions on life-style changes.
  3. Develops and manages patient care follow-up plans.

Qualifications

  • Education: Masters of Science in Nursing Degree required
